I have some more coming which will be mounted in the tissue box area, oil press etc.Ok so after reading the big drama bout how the car can turn out to be useless if the ICC is broken on removal I set about finding another way around it.I have had a bit of experience with electrical work in cars an decided was a better option to find the way around this so I dont have to remove the ICC. end product looks fine, there was no cutting required at all under the gauge pod all wires an boost run fine with no probs. gauges are hooked up to lights etc on off so that not on all the time.I had to go to work the sarvo so didnt have much time to get an photos, so I took one in the car on the way home lol.If anyone is wanting to get some gauges installed but couldnt be daffed doin it or isnt confident in doing the work, send me a pm an we can organise somthing. I m between syd an newcastle. I know some other members up north do it, but no one down here does I believeheres a quick photo, I ll take more in the morning in some light.all came together really well. Let me know your thoughts<div class='bbimg'></div>cheers Edited 06/03/07 12:08 PM by WHITE WEAPON Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/33032-put-in-my-new-autometer-gauges-today/ Share on other sites

If you like, that's the main thing. I'm sure other will too. Pod holder you have whilst fine, is vacuum formed. Tooling would be about $1000 to produce and take about 1 day to make. Plastic used is General Purpose ABS sheet, each unit produced is different than the last as the plastic sheet is heated the sucked down over a mould which doesnt allow for consistancy in parts as the sheet heats and cools unevenly. The alternative you speak of is as follows. Tooling consist of 3 moulds costing $38000 made from nitrided hardend tool steel taking 9 weeks to make. Parts are Injection Moulded which means polymer beads are melted and hydraulically injected into the mould under 400 tonnes per square inch of pressure. Each part is identical to the last as well as a superior finish and fit. Plastic used is a UV stabilised ABSPC and Acetal engineering plastic, far superior in longevity and far more expensive than general purpose ABS sheet. Now, dont get me wrong, Im not bagging you or the SS product, I mearly want you to understand that you do get what you pay for, so to say they are not worth the extra money is incorrect, they are priced accordingly to quality and fit. If you pay $40k + for a car, why settle for second best with your accessories. I hope you make a 2 gauge down the track :D Edited 06/03/07 12:58 PM by WHITE WEAPON Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/33032-put-in-my-new-autometer-gauges-today/#findComment-504839 Share on other sites

I will post up more pics in the morning. Guest Guests Posted 06/03/07 02:09 PM Share Posted 06/03/07 02:09 PM Good choice on the gauges mate After spending ~$1100 on two gauges though I personally would of forked out an extra $50 and got a better quality holder. As long as your happy with it though, that's the main thing. Mind you, for my personal choice, even if it was only $50, I think I'd still pay the extra and get the tri. Hell, I'm thinking of getting one and replacing my phoon pod with it more money spent on the car Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/33032-put-in-my-new-autometer-gauges-today/#findComment-504871 Share on other sites
