Hi all.

New to the forums as I am looking into an XR6 T to replace my 4wd and 300rwkw Skyline. Going back to one car and need to tow a boat plus have something to have some fun in. XR6 T seems to be the best choice especially already having turbo experience.

Anyway I will probably end up with around $29000 to spend. Now this will only get me into a BA 4spd auto. Is the BF with 6spd worth the extra 10K or maybe I could bolt up a 6spd to a BA later.

The idea of a $25k BA and slapping $5k worth of mods to it is appealing.

Do a search for this on the Forum, as I have just installed a ZF 6 speed in my BA, and it is not easy to do.

The only sure way to answer that is for you to go drive both cars...

But if it were me I would go for the BF with the ZF... Oh that's right I did

I also have an SY Territory AWD with the ZF and it is just an awsome gearbox.

mines a modified ba 4 speed,my dads bf typhoon is the 6speed auto,having driven both hard I would spend the extra on the 6 speed especially if your going to mod the engine they are hold up under good power alot better the the 4 speed

I have to agree with the above comments. The ZF is an awesome gearbox. I love it.

Yeah the ZFs the only way to go... but if your a real driver go for the T56 6speed manual

Go the 6 speed. The 4 speeds are clumsy weak box

your situation is almost same as me. I won't buy ZF 6 spd at the moment (by considered this, money is real factor of course).

what I mean is the new falcon is one year away (hopefully), so I think new and stronger ZF 6 spd should be there. anyway, just my opinion.
