Exhaust Rattle... Help

Disregard that last post, I'm was on another planet lol, thinking of the exhaust on the N/A six engine. The turbo one is a but more tricky

I know this is an old thread, but I rather continue on then start a new one.

I also have a rattle with my xforce exhaust, which you can only hear if standing at the back of the car. The thread starter said that the rattle is worse when in drive. Just wondering how the heat shields rattle when in gear, but not as much in park, how does this work? Is it because the revs are lower? When my car fully warms up to operating temperature the rattle is almost gone, but has the awful rattle sound on a cold start (especially in drive). Will removing all the heat shields from under the car solve this?

Any help will be great, because I'm tempted to put the factory exhaust back on. Thanks

So you've got an aftermarket exhaust with the heatshields still on?

Would have thought they would have been ditched when you changed the zorst over...

Are you talking about the heatshields on the exhaust, or the ones under the car bolted onto the body? The heatshields bolted to the body were not ditched when the new exhaust went on.

My car does this too.

But with mine it only happens when the cars cold. Once its warmed up the noise isn't there.

I had mine replaced about $120 by ford as it went brittle so ford said been fine since

I still dont know which heatshield causes the rattling when cold. I have a similar exhaust to the one in this photo. Is the red arrow on this pic the heatshield that is the problem??
