Sorry - that was a bit vague want it - Turbos as in Mistubishi Cordia Turbos, Mazda Famila Turbos etc - early 80s cars.  I think the modern cars (just about all of them) are more reliable.

ok got ya... I thought T's :stirthepot:

Ok Been offered 03 XR6T Blueprint with 17.000k's 0n the clock for $29.000 kind of set my limit at $25.000 but was looking at 40 to 50.000k's on clock for that.

Is it worth the extra $4.000?

Also get free GuthrieHolden Warranty(because I'm buying from a Expensive Daewoo dealer) which is 3 years from purchase date or 175.000k's which covers replacement of EVERYTHING but Tyres, brakepads and wear and tear comes with all cars they sell for free.

What do you think this 03 XR6T is really worth? should I buy it or what?

Cheers...

I reckon an 03 Turbo is not worth that much. Getting close to a 4 year old car. If I was in your position - I would be buying a newer one for that money.

though - the ks are definately low - one of the lowest I have seen for an 03. There are heaps of 03s on the market now - must be as they are outside their warranty. PS - you can extend Ford warranties, which I would have thought better than a Expensive Daewoo Dealership warranty for a Falcon.

Ring these guys up - offer them $35k - more... but brand new.

Yellow?

I dont think so.

But na you are right I get your point and I really do have to stick to my limit and I said from the start I will only spend $25 and should be able to get one (Blueprint.lol) with about 30.000 on it for that.

Another thing is I have just been reading some other posts on fuel consumption and and I am a bit worried about what these things use 15-16ltr/100 does seem high yet some are a bit lower, I will use mine everyday to work and back 12km each way and just cruising around Wanganui (days off) with the odd long trip, I'm starting to think maybe a NA XR6 now

I'm running a few trials on my EF XR6(manual), see what I get, last 17ltrs I got 150km but that was with a bit of heavy foot driving now and then and today I asked for 11ltr service station guy looked at me sideways but I will see what I get easy driving.

What do you get out of yours CobraV8?

Cheers...

Jason.

As for the warranty I was going to get an extended warranty through Wanganui Motors(Ford) but my last one was Sh#t and this Guthrieholden are giving it to me for free.

Insurance is another issue....

my current Fintel wont insure me

1. Have to get five star alarm

2. Has to be in a locked garage (I have carport with locked gates across it)

But they put me onto Insurance Direct still need 5 star alarm which Ill have to get but carport is cool

oh and both said no one under 25 but that's cool

and its only $5 a week more than I pay now

Finance sorted...

All I need now is the XR6T.....

I drive around 80km each day, roughly get about 470 km out of a tank of fuel (around $110 per tank).

The readings on the car say that I average around 50 - 60 km/h, and around 13l/ 100km.

I drive from Upper Hutt to Wellington and back each day. This is on a SH2 and SH1 roads, so... plenty of traffic, but moving, a few traffic lights and a bit of stop start traffic at interchanges etc.

Fuel economy is much better on a long trip. though... I couldnt tell you what it is - just better.

If you are worried about fuel economy - get a smaller car, Focus XR5 Turbo (though I doubt there are second hand ones yet) or something like that. Failing that - buy a Subaru WRX STI?

I like my XR6T, wouldnt trade it for many things, and just accept the extra fuel costs as part of the cost of owning a neat car.
