If you told us what type of gauges you were considering it would help.

Mechanical boost gauges are fine.

Electric oil pressure and temp gauges are fine. Just get correct sender units for temp range and gauge display.

Mechanical oil pressure gauges are OK, but run risk of oil spill inside dash / Mechanical temp gauges have long metal lines which are NOT easy to squeeze through gaps behind dash. And if they are kinked, they don't work effectively. But they are cheaper.

Don't know of any mechanical Amp (charge) or battery Voltage gauges???

Both are good. I went for the electrical as you dont need to run any lines into the cabin and they are easier to install in the pods.

One of my mates had a mechanical oil pressure gauge in his commodore... it leaked when he first put it in all through his dash he then replaced it with another one and they have a really bad hum sound to them as the oil goes through them and can get quite annoying if the music isnt loud.
