Hi All

Been driving the T a few weeks now and have had a few probs I thought I would share with you.

1- Humming sound coming from around throttle body when key is OUT of ignition. I put the key back in ign and switched it on until the dash lights came on, then off again. Took key out, humming stopped. Went to start the car next day and the battery was flat.

Problem was a sensor behind the passinger headlight keeping a circuit on because it had filled with water, so I was told.

2- Clonking coming from front of car when turning. Still to be resolved.

3- Car surges slightly mainly when cold, doesn't like to keep a constant speed, gets better when warmed up but still there slightly. Still to be resolved.

4- Sounds like I have a bee stuck in my rear parcel shelf and passenger door, VERY IRRATATING. Guys can this one be fixed under warenty?

5- I don't know if it because I am used to the power now but it doesn't feel as crisp off the mark as it used to. I have to give it more welly to get it going.

Thought I would share this as I hope some of you can give me some advise on what you think the solutions are to these problems. Has anyone had the same issues and had them fixed?

Cheers all.................Muncher

If its feeling down on power it maybe needs a tune up... or you got used to the power it has.

Bee at the back... poke around yourself to find whats doing the noise, could be a loose bit of trim.

Clonking in the front could be strut mounts, bushes... too many things in the front end too even consider, maybe get it looked at by a decent ie not Peddlers suspension shop

Suggest you talk with Simon at NIZPRO regarding the surge, more noticable in the manual trans, but problem likely to be associated with coasting fuel shut-off control.

BA II - XR6T 6 speed man - NIZPRO Cobra Stage II upgrade >300rwkw.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just had the car back from stealers, they have tightened the steering rack and engine mounts. So far no more clonking noise from up front. The surging is still there, they hooked it up to the comp which gave no fault codes so they have done nothing else to investigate.

As for that damn bee, I will get it in the end. Until then I'll just turn the vol up.

Cheers..........muncher

Muncher,

You may find the bee noise is either a fuel pump on its way out or the sound system.

The fuel tank is under the rear seat, you need to do some testing.

When does it happen ?

If it only happens when the motor is running or with the Ignition on, then it will be electrical, but if it only happens when the car is driving, it might be a rattle of a trim piece. You are best to try different techniques to determin what the problem is.

If it is a fuel pump problem, then it could also be causing the slugish feeling in performance.

Hi Zap

I have found now that the buzzing comes from 2 places.

1-from passenger side, gets loader when the vol is turned up on the bass beats. Still makes the buzzing, only slightly, when the stereo is pff.

2-from rear parcel shelf drivers side, makes buzzing when stereo on or off.

So I am getting there but still that bee eludes me. Will let you know how I get on.

cheers .........muncher
