Well the T is in getting the valve springs replaced under warranty as I speak. They also had a look at the turbo while they were in there and said they found a fair bit of oil in the turbo too, but not to worry about it as it is normal.

Is it anything to worry about? Is it normal? Its a 2003 BA with 43k on the clock (only serviced 2k ago)

I did a search on here first, but didnt find anything useful.

Oil in turbo?

normal?

Would that be from PCV fumes condensing? in intake system - (not an issue)

or from turbo bearing oil feed leakage? (I'd be worried about that)

Are you seeing blue smoke in exhaust?

I guess there is insufficient info.

Ask the dealer to be more specific.

I am using BP Visco5000.

Any views on using a 5W40 full synthetic instaed of 15W40 part synthetic (ie magnetic) as recommended. Particularily on the impact on the Turbo

Thanks guys.

The only smoke I have seen come out the back is unburnt fuel when the valve springs were playing up - so sounds like the oil in the turbo should be normal.
