But what do they again??←They return the valves to their closed position while the cam is not pushing them open... if the springs are weak like in the BA Mk 1 they can remain open which means loss of compression. But what do they again??←When incresing boost you increase pressure on the back of the exuast valve as you are running higher exhaust manifold pressures, this really isnt helped by the use of the stock intercooler. testing has shown to get 11psi at the manifold your turbo needs to make in excess of 16psi, backpressure on the exhast valves is about twice that of the actuall boost pressure at the compressor wheel. So your effectivly putting 10psi extra pressure on the exhaust valve than there need be just to acheive 11psi with a stock intercooler. Food for thought when you think about modifying your carPS its the exuast valves in the BA that tend to give you the headaches when you want to make more powerCheers Adam Edited 03/06/06 11:34 PM by Fattony Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25892-bf-valve-springs/#findComment-390161 Share on other sites
