Guys...my five cents worth.

Just got a new rear set for the T after putting up with the SP9000 for 40ks. They last but are shocking in the wet!

Anyway I have invested a great deal of net time investigating consumer reports re performance tyres and have gone with the Goodyear Eagles F1 245/40/18.

Great looking tyre...softish compound......sensational handling.....tyre life in front of Michelins and Pirellis!

Here endeth the lesson. :spoton:

I have the PS1's on now in 245x 45x 17 and there not as good as the SP3000's whether it be wet, dry, noise etc. This maybe because I had left them outside and not on the car for about 5months while I wore out the SP3000's. I dont really know but they are definately not as good......cool tread pattern though!!!!

I'm not planning on changing for a while yet(front ones anyway) but what can people get the SP3000 for $. Havent diven in pissn rain yet because I live in the drought country...Brisbane

That would do it, especially if they were in the sun.

Can't believe the PS1s are noisier than SP3000s though.

oh I did once use michelins on a tickford fairlane (97 model maybe??). I think they were sports of some variety and they were really good for only 225 wide

Here is a bit of info that I found about why the PS1's arnt that good...

Thanks for nuthin Cro. :mexicanwave:

I went to my tyre bloke today to order a couple of PP2 245/40/18's. But there are none in Oz, and none one the way for a few months at least, and so no price as yet either. :ermm:

So I ordered the V103's......perhaps next year.

Robyn,

I have tried V103's - pissed em off after 1500kms for their absolute sh*t for power down - brilliant for cornering/lateral grip though!

The Michelin Pilot Sport II is the best street tyre made - has twice the powerdown ability of the V103 dry OR wet IMHO!

Pilot Sport II has the best overall performance ... no question

Like geea I will be STICKING literally with Michelin Pilot Sport II :mexicanwave:

Cheers
