Oil Inside My Intercooler

Featured Replies

hello all

I pulled the stock intercooler out of my T and found that there was oil inside the intercooler. The car has 60000km on the clock and is basically stock. The car is still under warranty at this stage. Is it normal to have oil here? there wasnt heaps but I am a bit worried about the condition of the seals in the turbo. Should I be worried?

Some oil is normal. It shouldn't really drip out though!!!

Some oil is normal.

You will also find this in the bottom of the inlet manifold, where it just pools in areas where there is insufficient airflow to carry it to the engine.

Just think how little oil it takes per 1000k, to accumulate quite a bit when your car has got 60000 k's on the clock.

Not to worry
