Mine was bloody perfect till the 15,000 service and the Ford idiots gave her a wheel alignment she did'nt need and stuffed her up. I'm still fighting her desire to go right, I'll be giveing them what for when she goes in soon for her 30,000, ( she's on 26,000 ).

the thing that concerns me with your statement is that you are going back to them after f :fool: king in up in the first place :fool:

LOL! I know! But I'm in Townsville and I don't have much of a choice hey?!

They are a pretty good dealer really, no arguments at all about warranty work, you say, they do ( not that she's needed much ). It's just like a lot of places there's good grease monkeys and bad ones and then apprentices, it's not their fault, they're learning, someone who knows should be making sure of their work.

I won't settle for less than perfect next time!

I took mine down to Bridgestone yesterday to get the whole 4 wheels balanced. (2 weeks old). Shimmy in the front at 110 k's & a defineately out of round or badly balanced one on the rear. All tyres were hopelessly balanced from Ford. There was some runout on one, but reseating resulted in being within the bounderies. For those interested. the anti-theft wheel nut has a differance of 35 grams to the normal nut ( 35 for the lock & 70 other). I put the normal nut back on. While there I happened to mention to the alignment guy that the steering wheel was slightly to the right, he said show where the wheel is sitting. He said to bring it over after the balance & I'll fix it in 2 minutes. He put it up on the hoist, backed off two nuts( I think on the tie rods) made a small turn on it, retightened. The alignment machine was not used. Steering wheel is now in the centre. :spoton:

The other thing to remeber with the ba's is if they do not do a 4 wheel alignment than they are only doing half the job as the rear end on the sedans need to be aligned right before the front can be set.

I also have a bit of a floating centre point in my car, the wheel can wander a little....

My current theory is it could have to do with the loose steering rack - I've got a fairly quiet clunk in mine which tells me it is starting to loosen.

I will get that repairer under warranty when I can be bothered and see if it makes a difference.

Mine does the same is off centre to the left when going stright my dealer tried and failed miserably at fixing it, I might try a real tyre and suspension place when getting my tyres changed, anyone know a successful place in Sydney for this???
