Edit Vs Warranty

how much installed thru ford dealer any1 ask??

The dealer know full well that IF they sold the Edit and a driveline warranty claim was made, Ford would not have to prove anything.  While the letter of the law states that they must prove it, they will simply dig in their heels and say we are not going to honor the claim, sue us.

I think it is VERY wrong that a dealer will sell an edit and make BS claims about warranty, when they know Ford are cracking down on warranty because of the Edit.

It seems like a deceptive conflict of intrest.

ie, don't get Edit from a dealer.

As is the case with one dealer here in Perth they may have aligned themselves to a tuning house that will "assist" you with warranty work, providing you do all your servicing through that dealer.

I would suggest that in this scenario the tune house would provide a "conservative tune" when compared to other tuners getting the sort of results we are becoming accustomed to. For example boost might be brought in later in the rev-range and capped @ 10psi - 11psi with minimum advanced timing and rich AFR's.

If you are happy with 235rwkw and only marginally better than stock low to midrange and understand that if for whatever reason things go pear shaped warranty could still be void, then it may be an option worth considering.

I can see more of this type of "If you can't beat them, join them" approach being taken by dealers as it is a way of capturing their fair share of the after market modification $$.
