Hmmm....different from what I've heard ie Ford are not increasing engine output but will be concentrating on a lighter shell for better performance and economy.

The reason for downsizing the turbo is because the current one is way beyond what they required and has left too much scope for aftermarket high power mods. Ford see this as a benefit on one hand (because it is good for marketing) BUT it is bad because of the extra breakages (read bad publicity) and warranty claims it brings with it.

They should concentrate their efforts on hiring staff and buying machinery which will assemble a vehicle within closer tolerances!!

The only good thing from using a smaller turbo is that all the current dinner plate sized ones we have will be worth more to those looking for a 5 y/o Turbo for drag racing or modding! :tease:

Was talking today with someone that knows a thing or two about the future development of the Falcon

Would you like to devulge your source, or is it merely speculation?

I would hazard that its pure speculation.

He works for Prodrive in the Engineering department, and is involved with test and evaluation of proposed vehicle updates, prototypes and test mules. Nuff said.
