Alrighty just put the Michelin pilot sport (SP1) on the front using the original mustang rims and it looks crap!!! Raised the car nearly 1cm too. I did some calculations which should indicate the dunlops (235x45x17) have an overall diameter of 643.3 mm and the michelin (245x45x17) 652.3mm. Indicating a 9mm difference in diameter. 245x40x18 should have an overall diameter of 653.2mm and therefore bigger than the michelins.

Ok my point being the ride height with the michelins should be pretty much the same as if I had 18's since the suspension is the same. However having a bigger aspect ratio will make the 17's appear smaller and it definately wont look as good as with the 235x45 dunlops. I'm going to put the michelins on the XR rims anyway and see how they perform. I will probably lower the car too if the ride height looks funny as I'll probably end up putting 19's on at some stage.

Ok PS1's are on and actually look better than I thought considering the 245 width which affects the aspect ratio. I had a bit of a test today and they seemed good but not significantly better than the dunlops. The car is still a bit unstable at high speed and the std brakes are just stupid. There is no way I'm going for more power with these brakes!!! I'll probably lower the car soon to gain some more stability.
