Hi guys,

I haven't been around for ages and I still have my BA Phantom XR6T. I currently have a holding deposit on a GTO LE .. 1 of 100 only (don't hate me) but as each day goes by the pressure from my wife is unbearable. The GTO is extremely impractical. Only 2 doors, no boot space to speak of and not the sort of car you want to be driving everyday to work. So ..... I'm tossing in that idea and looking at the F6 or the GT. I must admit that I am reading more and more that my BA XR6T is probably quicker than both these cars. The GT I understand due to the weight but the F6 ??? How could this be ?

Are there any guys here who have owned a T and moved to a GT or F6 and can explain to me why I should get one over the other.

I love the Turbo but I feel it struggle on hot days. I also love the brilliant sound of the V8 but to be blown away by a T would make me cry !!

What to do ??

Cheers guys.

Have you test driven a gt or typhoon yet.

Because an xr6t is fairly quick as u would already know but the phoon is an absolute monsta!

between 0-60 the xrt would probably have you but then the phoon just keeps on going

as for a gt I test drove one of them and they are awsome aswell.

Its own preferance mate but id say definately go the typhoon especially now they have 6 speed auto which is probably quicker than manual but manual is too much fun in my eyes anyway.

Well my brother went from a XR6T to a GT and 0-100 the GT is slightly quicker. Using a g-tech the XR6T (auto) did a best of almost 6 flat and the GT (6 speed manual) has done a best of 5.7. There is nothing that beats the GT for the sound it makes but the typhoon will be easier and cheaper to make go quicker.

My turbo was auto but I always wished it had a clucth.

Now typhoon 6 speed manual very happy.

Im just sayin that the new 6 speed auto is apparanty very good.

I have not driven one yet but I think that the manual is pretty good in its own right

Without getting into a full mag style report , I stepped from an Auto T with 280rwkw and into a stock Phoon manual that pulled 228 rwkw stock.

Trust me a rolling start between the 2 there would be nothing much in it. Add in the FPV badge leather, brakes, suspension etc and it is just a better car period.

Dont listen to the bullsh*t about spending the extra on modding your T because if you dont intend on keeping it for years and years your wasting your d'oh.

I have taken my APS phase 2 kit and put it on my Phoon and had it tuned with HPF edit. In a straight line there would be bugger all in it .Overall I wouldn't even talk about them in the same breath there is that much difference .

Go the Phoon :stirthepot: mind you a GTO mmmmm
