Phoon Hoon Member 156 Member For: 20y 1m 21d Posted 03/02/06 09:19 PM Share Posted 03/02/06 09:19 PM (edited) My new Toxic BF Phoon is due for its 3,000 complimentary service and I thought I’d share some random thoughts on the beast. The good news is that I have had no troubles with any build quality issues. It is safe and sound with no rattles, no bits falling off and no paint issues… The car is beautifully trimmed inside and looks really, really classy. The premium sound is fantastic and looks/sounds awesome. The purple lights on the dash are swish, too.Now to the important stuff…My God, what a drive! I love this car so much – it always brings a smile to my face. The 6 speed auto is sublime. The down-changes when braking are fantastic and, especially in performance mode, it is rarely caught in the wrong gear. You can feel the gear changes are more aggressive in performance mode and it mates with the engine superbly. Occasionally I will drive it in “manual” mode, just for fun, and this is great too, especially when you want to drive even more aggressively with the gear changes than when in regular performance mode. Best of both worlds.I love subtly driving up behind an SS or HSV on the freeway at about 110km/h, manually changing into 3rd gear and blasting past them to overtake. The combination of the speed, the exhaust note (aided by my John Bowe performance exhaust), the horny BF Phoon looks and the Toxic colour always gets heads turning! As much as driving on the freeway is cool, I LOVE giving her a blast on back country roads, where there is a mix of hills, dales, turns and straights. The car is made for this kind of track. It is beautifully weighted, has dynamite acceleration and pulls up on a dime (thanks, Mr Brembo). It is awe-inspiring, spine tingling, knuckle-whitening stuff.I can’t recommend this car highly enough. It is a beautifully put together piece of machinery. If you have never driven one – DO IT NOW! I can understand the rave reviews offered by Motor, Wheels and just about any other independent review.I’m in love… and she’s TOXIC. Guest newl Guests Posted 03/02/06 11:43 PM Share Posted 03/02/06 11:43 PM Aye, the ~$1400 service fee made me run the other direction. Besides, who needs 6 pots on a street car? 4 is ample.
