Date to be announced as soon as confirmation of availability comes through!!

(aiming for April) :spoton:

A full day of fun and learning in you beast!! :spoton:

with sideline motorsports - option 1

http://www.sideline.org.au/driver_training.asp#Option1

The current details are:

Full day, total cost is $2600 for up to 16 participants and includes a good lunch.

This means $165.00 each provided we have 16 members

Also, additional lunches can be had for $14 for anyone who wants to bring along a friend/s.

1st April 2006

Starts at 8.00 am sharp and usually finishes by 4.30 pm.

Session starts with short verbal instruction and the signing of indemnity forms. You can also choose to have an instructor drive your vehicle later and show you what it can really do if you want to. (With you in the passenger seat of course)

There is also a safety check carried out by the instructors on all cars.

1st session consists of half day on the skid pan learning car control, 2 cars at a time, you have instructors in with you at first and then choose either to go by yourself of with another single person. Usually get 4-5 turns on the skid pan which is great.

2nd session has slalom training, breaking exercises, and general car craft in two alternate groups and then culminates in a timed couple of laps of the full slalom course which is a real hoot.

Hey Everyone

BIG THANKS to mackasxrt for using his contacts and providing all the info. :spoton:

note from macka:-

Cars end up a bit dirty but you’ll feel really great about the whole day.

I also suggest people have a chamois in the car to clean windows before they drive home. (Just a little safety thing)

There are water coolers and toilet facilities on site.

Cheers, Macka.

I have participated in this day before (not in the phantom), all I can say is its a

FANTASTIC DAY, the fellas from sideline are tops!!

Its a yummy sit down lunch and a good time for de-brief of the skidpan session.

The whole day is A great way to test your own boundaries and also see what your car can do - SAFELY!!

start putting your $$$ aside and get your name down to book your place :spoton:

Hi Shazzy

I'm in, just name the date and I'll be there.

I've done a day @ Mt Cotton, it's the most fun I've ever had in a car.

Looking forward to putting the (possibly new) car through it's paces.

Can't wait ......YEE HA.

Yeah Shazzy

I'm just doing the sums at the moment to try and justify a Typhoon, but the numbers aren't looking too good for resale so I'll see what happens.

Been offereed a 2005 BF Typhoon six speed auto demo, done 4000km in Bionic for $55,500 avaiable in three weeks time, but they will only give me $22,000 for the Phantom and I'm not sure if I could live with that colour, my preference is Rapid.

Cheers

Is there any type of insurance that covers your car for this event? Like what happens if one of the instructors gets in and is showing off and stacks it... :(

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

to my knowledge you enter your car at your own risk, however the instructors will not allow radical driving.

a few of us have done this course before , it is not necessary to thrash the car.

You drive Your car..

you have the option to let the instructor have a drive
