I could be wrong Buggy, but dont you have SLs on the front and SSLs on the back?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

but I think I recall some forum members saying that there is an SSL set for the front of an AU or something that can be fitted to the BA?

Either way, I wouldn't recommend going any lower than SL at the front, it's plenty low enough IMHO.

That was me. I have ssl at the front and the ride is a little harsher than usual but I think that's more to do with the 19s. Its a fine line between looks and practicality.

Yes SL and SSL Kings are the way to go. $400 supplied and fitted with a wheel alignment! Can't go wrong there :o

And that's just from the ford service technicians.

How do we go with insurance with lowered cars?

What is the limit before the police/insurance will cause us headaches??

Don't know about insurance but try the coke can test if u can drive over one u should be right I think the height in NSW is 130mm from memory. Which means u can go about 1 1/2 inches down from standard.

Is the coke can test for parts under the car within the wheelbase?

The reason is that the sidepipes of the Cobra are way lower to the ground than a coke can - would these fail the test?

Any part of the body or suspension I believe, including exhaust. That said with a Shelby Cobra I would expect you would be left alone, although not strictly legal. Bearing in mind I don't have any reference material on me this is from memory but I thik it it pretty close.

my car is lowered just under 2" probably around 1 and 3/4 inches. I used pedders, and so far im happy with both the ride and the look. Didnt need to cut bump stops.

As some one else mentioned, it is a slight pain the butt trying to get into some drive ways etc. Scrapes on most things that have any real angle to them! but I guess its a compromise.

Thanks Slymeat - you are probably right, so far I have never even been pulled over in the Cobra, just one of these days I half expect a problem at a warrant - and then I will be stuffed - as there are a few bits that drop down below the limit (headers, side pipes, dry sump line fittings, possibly the bellhousing.

though - the other day I had a bit of a fright, the company who makes the Cobras were sponsoring a car club event - and asked me to take my car down to the show to display it for them. As I arrived (and I had been behaving, but the car is loud), a police car pulled in behind me, and another ahead up front like they were trying to block both exits. Thankfully the policeman liked Cobras and just wanted a look.
