My understanding is that any tuner with the appropriate software can do this for you. If you're getting a tuner to do a new custom tune for your car they'll probably even unlock it for free while they're at it. :spoton:

Most tuners will unlock it for nothing and add some generic tunes as long as you use them when you get your custom tune..........

My understandig is that when you flash the stock tune back in you can then flash any other car, it will only be vin locked to a car as long as that car has the edit flashed in.

Happy to be corrected if Im wrong

I think it has to be reset..... I.E. When F spot is cleared so are your other maps. They can only clear it if they have something to put back in it..... Make a few calls and see how you go,

Every EDIT is VIN locked to the vehicle when the factory tune is downloaded, ie when you first go to use EDIT. For an EDIT box to be reflashed it has to have seen the factory tune as having been reloaded back to the original vehicle. If it doesn't then CAPA cannot reflash the box.

So you can't leave an EDIT map on the car then sell the box.

I still own the old one & know you have to upload the stock map back up to the PCM!

I do believe that the SCT black box has to go back to a dealer to be unlocked from the VIN. If anyone can answer this one for me that would be great!
