If you're getting a tuner to do a new custom tune for your car they'll probably even unlock it for free while they're at it. Happy to be corrected if Im wrong Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21881-cheapest-edit-reset/#findComment-324111 Share on other sites

When F spot is cleared so are your other maps. They can only clear it if they have something to put back in it..... Make a few calls and see how you go, Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21881-cheapest-edit-reset/#findComment-324116 Share on other sites

Happy to be corrected if Im wrongEvery EDIT is VIN locked to the vehicle when the factory tune is downloaded, ie when you first go to use EDIT. For an EDIT box to be reflashed it has to have seen the factory tune as having been reloaded back to the original vehicle. If it doesn't then CAPA cannot reflash the box.So you can't leave an EDIT map on the car then sell the box. thebrunks Member 665 Member For: 21y 10d Location: Gold Coast Posted 13/12/05 10:00 PM Author Share Posted 13/12/05 10:00 PM I still own the old one & know you have to upload the stock map back up to the PCM!I do believe that the SCT black box has to go back to a dealer to be unlocked from the VIN. If anyone can answer this one for me that would be great!Russ Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21881-cheapest-edit-reset/#findComment-324372 Share on other sites
