September 16, 200521 yr #1 I know that there is a truck load of discussion on the forums about lowering XR's, and after being inspired by Trough Lolly's recent effort, I've decided that its time.So the question is what springs and where. King springs seam to be the prefered option of many, but I'm sure you all have different experiences. I'm looking for about 25mm (No jokes please) as I done want to be scraping on driveways etc.And if anybody can recommend a good installer within a 10k radius of melb CBD this also would help. My dealer has a performance shop attached to their service dept, and I could get it done then for about $600. This sounds pretty cheap, maybe too cheap.TaMattPS - Is my Butt too big? A mate had his springs fitted there, front and rear, for $80. 1 hr turn around.I have Kings SL and SSL like most and am very happy. It doesnt scrape and I havent had too many problems with gutter or anything. A set should only cost about $250 I think, so for $350 they should be in your car.CheersLuke.
September 16, 200521 yr #3 How much stiffer are the kings, do you still get body roll when the back end grips after slides??
September 16, 200521 yr #4 do you still get body roll when the back end grips after slides??No, it just comes back nicely, very predictable.
September 16, 200521 yr #6 Yes there are plenty of discussions about lowering the XR and it would seem that King springs are the spring of choice. But in all the threads I never heard at anytime that if you install SL springs in the front that it wont change the height at all. I found out the hard way as my ride didn't change from the standard xr springs which was and still is 360mm from wheel centre to wheel arch on 19" wheels.Even after 2 months now, it hasn't settled and dropped as I've heard happens. If I'd have known, I'd have gotten the SSL's for the front as I did the rear.SSL front and rears recommended.Regards,Arthur

I put Eibach's in my last car and that set me back $1000 (but worth it)A 4 wheel allignment will also be required, but if it come in under $500 I'll be wrapped.
September 17, 200521 yr #8 Author Just 1 question if anybody is in the know, is there any difference between the SL and the SSL for is simply 1 code for the fron and the other for the rear? This is an extract from the catalogue:Thanks

This in turn requires u to change struts and shocks as the stock BA ones will bottom out and be stuffed really quick. A pain in the arse which has left me no option but to grin and bear the front of my car not going anywhere near as low as I want... or change the whole setup in the front
