Am I alone in feeling short changed by Ford/FPV releasing the BF less than 12 months after the release of BA MKII?? Many thought we would see BA MKIII released which would have meant many us were only a ‘mark’ behind.

Perhaps I’m cynical but is this a way for FMC/FPV to help distance themselves from the Typhoon clutch fiasco? I’m sitting here with a car that cost me over $70K, has had more issues than any other car, and it’s superceded in less than 12 months. Or perhaps it’s all just a coincidence….. :pinch: :pinch:

If you look at in terms of what will be more collectible in 15-20 years then a BA phoon will rate way higher then a BF, short term this will have no effect but as time goes on the phoon will always be remembered (a) because the BA was the car that saved ford and (b) because the phoon has a story and collectors love stories.

I think any Turbo charged BA will fit into that category. It will be remebered in 30 years time in the same light as the GTHO is remembered today.

I dont think in 30 years time we will see these cars in unique cars too much. There is just too many of them. The GTHO was a very rare animal. You really had to know someone even to get one.(I tried at the time)

There is nothing Ford can do to build a classic like the GTHO . Its impossible. We have just seen Expensive Daewoo drop the Monaro.

The closet thing they could build to a GTHO would be a Taxi pack BA on steel wheels with a 340KW Cleveland motor and that aint gunna happen. The market wont buy it.

They did in the 70's but they wont know. We expet too much in our 80k cars.

Long live the GTHO - we will NEVER see it surface in a new car again.

Correct. :spoton: If there was a formula to make a "Unique Car" or "Classic", manufacturers would be doing it, and in doing so, the cars would not be special because everyone would have one!

If that makes sense :spoton:
