Vary the revs for the first 500 k's or so. Change the oil and filter after about 1000 to 1500 k's, and then you are ready to go.

You will find that the car looses power as the intake temps increase. Your best cure for this is a large intercooler. That will make the car significanlty more consistent, particularly once you've increased boost.

Mines 2 years old and done 83,000km. Was inconsistent on day 1 and is still inconsistant today. Some days it goes well, others it won't beat a Barina. This also occurs between gear changes. In first it's great, change to second and it just dies between 3,500 and 4,500rpm. Other days it's the other way around. Some days it makes that great little goble goble sound during gear changes, the next day you can't make it make any sounds no matter how hard you try.

I've complained to Ford at all levels at times on a daily basis. I've had numerous mechanics and formen drive the car and come with me whilst I drive the car, with most experiencing this inconsistency and saying something is not right, but they can't fix it. The next day Ford Australia ring and tell you nothing is wrong, while at the very same time, the flat spots make the car almost undrivable at times, you can't change into 5th gear at 100km/hr plus, the diff is whining like a taxi, and the greabox whines in 3rd gear at 75km/hr. When you stop at the lights, it dips to about 200rpm, and the input shaft sounds like it's going to chuck a bearing any minute. The drive line clunk is nothing short of embarracing.

The only saving grace is, and to date has got the biggest reaction from Ford is, tell them that whilst I idle through the carpark of Woolworths with this horendous clunking coming from the car, or it's whining with passengers in it, it looses traffic light duals to Barinas, etc, it's got a whopping big FORD badge on it.
