Its a good indication of what the tuners pay for these CAPA Edits. Its obvious that they pay no more then $850 for them if they are willing to sell them at that price to get rid of stock.

actually mate that's wrong, we have been paying way more then that for them.

I'm pretty happy with the standard 8 psi tune - equal driveability to the Ford tune.

ZMAN has come up with the $ for the 2nd unit.

DCVIN is looking for someone to go halves (sorry mate feel bad that you found the deal and I jumped ship with the first person that came up with the $), Interested members are:

Gavin K,

tur

troughlolly and

NOS XR

There's bound to be some matches there.

Should still be 6 left. Suggest you get together and snaffle them. Daniel at Chipmaster will take direct deposit and looking at the interest here I don't think there's much risk in getting 2 as you'll always offload the other 1.

A big thanks to Mark for persuading me to purchase the capa edit. He came over tonite and we plugged her in with the 10psi generic tune and took her for a spin...and oh my god what a difference, from about 3000 revs she just hammers.

Instant 13 1/2 second car - just add edit. Your car hammered with that tune mate. Momentarily made me wish I had an auto again but I'm sure I'll get over it once I get a tank of 98 RON and upload the 10psi map.

Can't wait for Motorplex to reopen in September - might even have a custom tune by then....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Really looking forward to Motorplex opening in September to really see what times we can get. Hopefully by then I will have done a couple more minor mods to her. I am still amazed what a difference that 10psi generic tune has done to my car. Now to save up and get a custom tune through simon at Extreme.

Why am I way off the mark?

What I wrote was that the reseller being Joe Blogs Performance has to pay lets say $750 per unit, and then he needs to make a profit of at leat 40% up to 65% on the outlay of $750 to cover costs if he has a shop front.

The Distributor is the one that’s making a large mark up on his cost about $300AUS  give or take $25AUS  but they have to pay for the R&D , warranty , advertising , wages and that ever else. But at least 100 % mark up.

Now that Excalibur 2 is replacing Excalibur 1 in the US,

Will the distributor do a buy back if you up grade like what’s happing in the US?

And what I'm saying is, I know how much they (tuners) pay for them and they don't make squat on them at all.. Yes, your business logic should run true, but in this case, it just doesn't.. Thw wholesaler, at a guess makes the $$, Tuning shops make the money on custom tunes..

As for the excaliber 2 coming out, unless it runs CAN protocol, it won't replace our unit. Ford US runs a different protocol, but having said that, 2006 sees new regs comin in world wide where everyone has to run CANbus, so it won't be long before they change over, and hopefully the price will drop accordingly.

who cares what the tuners pay bla bla.. can we keep this on topic please!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It seems as though some misinformation may be spread because one tuning place decides to loose money on there units. I believe I am still on-topic, or I'm as much off-topic as ppl talking about 1/4 mile times????????????????????????????

blah blah.

I am so pissed off that I have missed out. I have been sick for the last 3 days and suddenly everything starts happening.

Anyway I have just been informed by Chipmasters that the cheaper deal has now sold out and is now back at $1000 each.

Oh well still a good price and will be buying just the same.

Cheers

Adrian

P.S. Thanks Roger but a mate of mine will be grabbing it for me now. Thanks.
