The cheapest insurance I got in melb was with CGU for just over $1200 and that's with free windscreen each yr and $5K worth of extra stuff in the car..

Alot of othe companies either wouldnt touch ya unless u had driven a car with same Kw and it had SAT Tracking on the car..

Or others were like $2,500+ ..

My Phoon in NSW with NRMAI is $1,420 - which is $100 cheaper than my STi. Finally convinced them to cover edit. Some cars that were almost uninsurable 3 years ago (eg WRX & STi) are now relatively cheap to insure because they use DataDots (I sell em). FPV standard fits DataDots on all their cars - and this is definitely helping with insurance.
