Trough Lolly Member 4,349 Member For: 22y 14d Gender: Male Location: Mildura Posted 30/06/05 08:02 AM Posted 30/06/05 08:02 AM picked up my brand new DBA slotted front rotors today compliments of "YCL" fitted them this arvo, done the bedding in bla bla stuff and then took it out the open roads for a strap..the reason I wanted to upgrade the fronts is cuz under hard braking at high speeds they got TERRIBLE brake fade... its like they would brake 100% for the first 2 seconds then get hot and back off to like 30% brake force.. anyways I got it upto 160 and jumped hard on the brakes... not only did it nearly throw me through the windscreen but within around 1.5-2 seconds I was doing about 75kmph!!moral of the story?? if you think your standard brakes are dangerous and could be better... DEFINATELY consider getting some slotted rotors for the front end! very cheap yet effective!!

Feels very strong but I think it could use another brake bleed. Pedal is a little soft. This is on top of FORD Premium calipers (PBR). Looks a bit shmick as well...If your doing track days don't even think of standard brakes.... you will kill them.

I should of changed them I know but they were wearing perfectly flat and stuff so I didnt bother. made a huge diff!!I tried bendix ultimates on my old VT commy and I hated them.. downgraded to the bendix ADVANCE pads and whoa are they heaps better! I reckon the ultimates are to hard for daily and basic sport driving.. the advances just seem to bite heaps better and dont need the warm up time.

If you dont like the Ultimates, might want to try the RB74s, awesome stopping power and fade free just a little hard when cold.Dingah

Nothing else. I used to do Supersprints in my VS clubsport and tried bigger brakes etc. A lot of cost, a lot of headaces, and not a big gain. The reason for soft peddle is brake fluid. If you are going to do track days, the standard stuff is dangerous. Pay around $100 for the SRF (what the V8 supercars use). Trust me this is from experience around Oran Park and Wakefield. I also drive my car everyday for work and dont have to keep swapping set ups. The only downside is that the pads make a lot of brake dust and that you will chew your standard rotors out fairly quickly. At the end of the day the brakes are there to stop the car!

Sick of that noise.How much are we all talking about for new disks?
