It took him 1.5 hours but he got there in the end. Maybee it was "only for a flat"?? I would ring them again and find out. ... When I delte with them they were just fine to deal with...Also, yeh I read the 80KM/h sticker on my steelie.. I thought it was crap also. I would still drive at 100 on a free way to the next place where I would get the puncture repaired... (Not driving the "T" on the limit of course...

If that was the case, how can they offer 'Road side assistance' to customers at dealerships that are located outside of Melbourne?? (ie. if you buy a car from a Ford dealer located 60km out of Melbourne will you hear "oh, by the way, this isn't actually effective unless you drive towards the city and break down there"!!! I agree with bdennis - sounds like they couldn't be stuffed helping out with 'changing a flat'. Pathetic - you should definately ring up and complain!!

Now, whether this IS FORD ROADSIDE ASSIST, or the selling dealer, I am not sure of?.. Regardless... There was a definate lack of help!... & Once again, WE ( car enthusiusts) KNOW that a 16" steelie is good for more then 80kph!... My wife( as do, most women) tends to "read & obey" !!

Member 41 Member For: 23y 8m 8d Location: Sydney Posted 27/04/03 01:05 AM Posted 27/04/03 01:05 AM Got a flat on the driver's rear 18" SP9000 Friday on the way to Bathurst.I also didn't get the spare alloy - my fault, I forgot to tick that box - but luckily it only required a $18 repair, not a new $450 tyre!It was quite a shock to see that 80km/h label on the spare - I knew it was a 16" steelie, but just presumed it was standard wheel/tyre off an XT.I wonder what chance I've got of going back to the dealer at this stage of the game and getting that fifth 18" alloy wheel and tyre - I'm guessing it'll cost slightly more than the $380 you pay when ordering new.

The Federal laws relating to A.D.R for motor vehicles can allow fittment of different sized "spare" wheels including "space-savers" etc.Its definitely worth investigating further.

But yes I have an alloy in my boot, but as it is a directional tyre, technically I can only use it one one side of the car ???

I will probably end up buying a cheapo set of 5 * 17's to use as spares / daily driver wheels... might make life a little bit easier.
