Anyway on the wensday they got a little confused over my alarm system and thought that it was non genuine, so the locks remained faulty. The tech guys spoke to the dealer for my car and he insisted that the alarm was a genuine ford alarm so they should be able to fix it, so the car went in again today so they could have a look around and hopefully fix the things. As I was driving down to the service centre (less then 1K from my house) I pushed the door lock/unlock button (above the tissues) and to my amazement the thing bloody worked (normally you push it and nothing happens). So I figured that there going to have no luck because the bloody thing is working anyway I drop the car off and get a phone call latter in the day saying that I can come pick the car up but they have been unable to locate the problem (doh) and that when it starts occuring next I am to bring the car straight in and get them to take a look (fair enuff)anyway they seem to lock/unlock at anytime, if the car is stationary, moving, hits a bump, I blink, burp or fartso tonight I jump in the car drive about 20m and the doors lock, the buttons not working and if I take it back to the dealers tommorow the bloody thing will work perfectly.now that I have had a b**ch and explained my problem can somebody tell me what it is that is stuffed? Has anybody else had this experience? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17422-door-locks-playing-up/ Share on other sites

The reason the button isnt working when you try and press it is because the problem is occurring constantly at that moment (if the wire wasnt earthing out the button would work as normal). Possible causes: Faulty remote (unlikely), Faulty button in ICC, faulty locking mechanism (wiring), faulty driver's door button.Could ALSO be a problem with one of the front door handles (as they unlock the door when you pull the handle). The dealer should be checking all of these points.Steve Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17422-door-locks-playing-up/#findComment-250151 Share on other sites

As far as alarms go, they do not normally connect to central locking as far as triggering goes. The BA auto locks after a few minutes anyways so most alarms although capable do not connect to the central locking to control this. The reason I say thios is the alarm is virtually indempendant of the central locking & cannot stop it from working. If an actuator jams locked or unlock though it will stop the remotes from working as the ICC wont overide their signals. It was related to the actuators in the doors. RHS passenger door lock is sticking at the moment and wont lock Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17422-door-locks-playing-up/#findComment-250190 Share on other sites
