As the owner of a N/A XR6, one of the small but frustrating things missing from my car (despite the brochures originally saying it was included  ) is the rear seat armrest with twin cupholders as in the Futura/Fairmont/Ghia.

Can someone tell me if this is like rear power windows - present on the XR6T but missing from the N/A, or is it not in any XR?

I was hoping if it's standard in the Turbo I could just go down to the dealer and order a seatback in the correct Plexis trim, otherwise I'll need to look into the logisitics of getting a Futura/Fairmont seatback rebolstered and retrimmed... :(

WTF?

I thought all big cars had them, every Falcon I've been in has one, even my old mans commy has one.

I didn't think I needed to ask..

Atleast I wont be in the backseat (and if I am it will just get in the way if you know what I mean) :D

Unfortunately premium sound doesnt get you the armrest either. No armrest to speak of at all. A bit of a disappointment in my opinion.

Guys,

I am not sure but I think I did look inot this back in December.

I think you only get a centre arm rest in the rear if you order leather trim....??? <_<

Not sure. The Futura / Fairmont / Ghia get them all the time though!!!..

Anyone with Ford Leather option able to comment???

Nope.

I've got leather and you still don't get a centre armrest.

Glad I am not a passenger, they need something to hold onto when I'm driving.

Looks like that rules out an easy swap! This one will have to go to the bottom of the list.

Now to find out how hard it is to swap the handbrake lever over with the Ghia item

Thanks for the replies gents <_<

why do you need an arm rest in the back of the car??

why do you need an armwrest with cupholders??

I dont get it. How often are you going to be in the back seat of your car drinking? Or how likely are you going to drink in your car anyways?

There are comments about the weight of the BA. And there are comments about a sports sedan missing 'armrests and cupholders.' I know cupholders/armrest wouldn't weigh much, but it all adds up. Poor old Ford can't win either way.
