I dont know how theses would be in 17 or 18 but ......

best tyres I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy in dry were Michelin Pilot Sports some 4 or so years ago but in wet my choice had always been the Pirelli P5000 Drago ...

I had a lot of mixed reactions from a lot of tyre places when I looked for a new set last time, and I dont think you can get them any more and no matter what anyone says the P6000 just didnt feel right to me .... :spoton:

Some places were telling me they wear too quick but damn it doesnt that mean their not plastic crud that just slips ... :drivingalong:

If you have the 17's go the Michelin Pilot Preceda's.

They have double the traction rating (AA traction rating compared to A on the dunlops) (fact) of the standard Dunlop SP3000A's that came with your car. They also have the same tread wear rating as the dunlops so they will last just as long.

A lot of members have them on their cards all with positive results. I can't wait to get rid of the dunlops on the rear of my car so I can have them all round.

They are a lot quieter than the dunlops also.

Interested in the tyres you mention but, as a 17" they don't conform to the vehicle rating sticker.

Michelin Pilot Preceda's 235/45/R17 94V

The tyre sticker states must be greater than 92 load rated and greater than W speed rated fitted to this vehicle.

V=240 klm/hr

W=270 klm/hr

92 load = 630kgs so the 94 is OK

The car can only go up to 230km/h before the limiter cuts in, so there is no problem there with laws and stuff. I've asked Ford and RTA to clarify this.

I've also had no problems with insurance when my last T was written off. I had the Preceda's on that too.

In my opinion theyre noisier and traction isnt as good as the factory dunlops, but theyre not an expensive tyre. Next time round im trying something different

I'm running 235/45/17 Firestone Firehawk SZ50's got a nice deal on em at $165 a pop. Handle the wet better than the Dunlops and dry at least on par less noise, I doubt they'd be near the performance of some of the $600 a pop tyres but for a daily work driven car they perform well, with the added wet weather saftey when the missus takes her out.

I'd buy em again. Worth a look
