Diff Replacement

Well I took my car back to the dealer this morning after about 2 months, when I reported a rattler in second gear. Well they got back to me and said they had a ford rep there and wanted me to take this guy out and show them what rattle I was talking about. Well he figures that its not internal to the gearbox, but says its where the gear knob attatches to the stick, so I will have this looked at.

Well when we got back to the dealler ship I asked the guys if he knew what the whine in my diff is, as it was singing away during the drive. The noisy diff, whines at low speed. He said tell the dealler also. So I told the dealler and he had it on the hoist taking down part and serial numbers and said ill call u in about 4 weeks with your new diff!!!

I dont get it :ermm: I have been complaing since new about the gearbox noise and they have draged it out for so long. But this is the first official mention of a diff whine and they were staight on it, no questions asked, not even "ill get someone to go for a drive with you". Do they know something I dont???

Well atleast ill get a new diff :nono:

Allen I was exactly the same, had to fight for the gearbox, diff was an instant replacement.

Yes there have been diff issues for well over 18 months, diff whine at 95km/h.

Do a search read back through some threads. :nono:

BTW mods do not matter.................

With all the crap that I have been through with my car, and there has and still is some, when I even hinted at the diff whine, a new one was ordered straight away.

Apparently I am getting the "new spec hand build and tested" diff. I have been told there is a 3 month wait on the "new" diffs, but mine should be here next Wednesday. I think I may have que jumped, sorry to those waiting, but I guess the noisey wheel gets the oil. (pun intended).
