However due to some idiots doing the wrong thing they have closed off the car park and the police are on a mission to wipe out the scene entirely.....Drivers of HOT cars doing right - wrong or somewhere in between are all targets..TuffXRGood luck on your mission to keep everyone honest... keep up postedShazza Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15797-lost-my-licence/page/3/#findComment-221516 Share on other sites

As for the sub-title of your thread "Taking Cops to Court".... I would suggest the Cops are taking you to court.... and when the Judge says "will the defendant please rise", he/she will be looking at you.Best of luck. Give the guy a break hes worried here. Nearly all crashes happen for other reason not by having a little fun go to 140 on a highway. Its usually alcahol, fatigue, speeding or going to fast for a decent persiod of time, eg on a trip home, different from having a tiny 'squirt'. Yes its illegal and no I dont do this but the media does lie...Personally I am in more control when Im driving a little hard and fast because im alert and concentrating the most likely time for me to crash is sitting on 110 on the highway on a long trip because you tend to not concentrate and relax too much. Im sure tuffxr6 wasnt half asleep when doing a small 30km over the limit. With a good lawyer I dont beleive they can nab you for more than 140. Firstly you have a witness that says the police car was catching you not trailing you at a their own constant speed of 140. He wouldnt have tried to use scare tactics if he was certain he had you for 150. Truth is the police dont know what speed you were doing and that with a leniency rate or error, then you should not loose your licence. All this is just my opinion im not saying I know anything or am right just ideas... He's already said both he and his passenger were intently focused on his speedo the whole time. So, who was watching the police car behind them??? The man on the grassy noll?Truth is the police dont know what speed you were doing and that with a leniency rate or error, then you should not loose your licence. Yep, the police do not know exactly what speed he was doing. However, from what we have heard on here from actual police officers, that does not seem to matter too much. It sounds like they can clearly establish he was doing more than 140 km/h (proof: two cars, car A is travelling at a constant 140 km/h for several seconds, car B moves away from car A during that time; how fast was car B going???). It then comes down to how much more than 140 km/h he was travelling. They just need to prove it was at least 10 km/h faster. You may have a chance here, but it will come down to the experience of the HWP officer vs tuffxr6. The officer said tuffxr6 was moving away quite quickly ("pulling hard"). Its probably easy enough to guess whether an extra 11km/h in speed equates to "pulling hard" or not. Try it yourself with a couple of mates.I don't think there is much potential on the error rate thing either. In this case, because speed is being estimated on the cop car's speedo, you will have to show that the error is in the police car's speedo. They should be able to prove when the speedo was last calibrated for accuracy. Might be worth a try, but it seems doubtful. In NSW the government likes to make an example of this, and penalties are very severe. The man on the grassy noll?I never said me and my mate were intently focused on the speedo I quickly clance at my speedo and when I braked and backed off the speedo read 140km/h if I knew the car behind me was a cop car I wouldnt raced in the first place as they didnt put there sirens and lights on till late in the pursuit. This is getting off topic as it comes to, I never exceeded over 140km/h which is only 30 km/h over the speed limit but the police fined me 40km/h over the limit so I lose my licence without any prove and trying to scare me into a confession, they write the fine like this ''your speed of ^150 km/h exceeded the maximum speed limit of 110km/h'' why didnt they write it as ^149km/h, because I would not of lost my licence as you have to be doing more than 40km/h over the speed limit to lose your licence.
