Had My First Run..

Well after filling up yesterday, heading towards a set of lights that joins the motorway and 110km zone, noticed a vl approaching quicky from behind and new he was trying to line me up when he moved into the lane next to me so the lights changed just before we reached a stop and we both nailed it, he got the jump on me by half a car and before we I hit second I managed to hit the rev limiter which slowed me even more giving him a couple of car lengths now. So now I am gaining momentum again and start pulling him in but only slightly, at the rate I was gaining would have pulled about level by the end of third but caution prevailed and I back off as well as he did.. So was a good run and willing to accept a good defeat at the hands of a pretty quick vlt and a bit of poor driving on my part as I still getting used to the sequential shift.. Pretty sure I saw a front mount cooler so it had some work done.

Whats the rev limiter on the xr6t ? Cant wait to get my mods completed now though :spoton:

Well done Chop-chop,

I have found she runs to about 5500 rpm with max torque, then drops of a bit from there. Next time, with a 1800-2000rpm launch and quicker changes, you'll smas :spoton: h em!

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I have just bought my first auto car and somebody told me to stall up the revs witht the auto! wont this cause a heap of damage to the trans?

This Seems plain Stupid to me! surely the gearbox will chew a few synchros in this process or something!

Sorry for the Stupid Post!

Just push it to the left, foot on brake whilst dialling up 1800-2100rpm and then hold on when the lights go green  . Plenty of threads on this topic FYI

Best way to avoid hitting the limiter is leave it in auto mode.
