Hard Lid

Featured Replies

hey im looking at getting a hard lid for the ute was just looking at a black leather one but they are really expensive thru ford $1100 and $1700 for a colour one, does this sound right?

I also rang an aftermarket supplier and his prices where the same but he said he had a second hand black leather for $500 does this sound allright.

And if anyone knows of any places in brisbane that sells them cheap or has seen some for second hand let me know.

cheers wade

Yeah, that sounds about right wade. I paid $1695 when I bought my ute (for the smooth one). You should get it a bit cheaper by going afermarket. Not sure on the warranty if you get a ford one but it might be like the car-3 years. If it is it might be the way to go.

Be wary of aftermarket hard covers, at work we had one on a Ford Courier ute and it leaked like a sieve and we took it back several times for adjustment but in the end we gave up and just put up with it.

I know of a another guy that got an aftermarket one on his Maloo ute and it also leaked and also rubbed paint off. He too took it back to where he got it (Expensive Daewoo in his case) and they had several unsuccessful goes at fixing it. In the end he shelled ~$2500 out for a genuinr HSV one, problem fixed.

Those eBay ones look like they are a good price but are a bit of a problem if you don't happen to live in Sydney.
