Nankang Ns2 Tyres

Have to replace my original Dunlops. Am looking at updating to 18" wheels and Nankang NS2 in 235 x 18".

Any one else running these tyres?

Are they quieter than the Dunlops which I find noisy on some surfaces.

All opinions appreciated.

I wouldn't mind finding out the same thing but shouldn't they be 245/40/ZR18?

Can't comment on the Nankangs.

But I can recommend Nexen N3000s as a cheap tyre.

Silica compound across the range. The NS2s have silica in 18" and up.

I find them to be a great tyre. With 330 odd rwkw in the ute that actually provide great traction in a straight line, they are not noisey and wet weather performance is fine too.

If you are from Sydney go to tempe tyres and they will have them for $175 each.

At that price you can't go wrong for a silica based tyre.

I have the Nankangs on my T. they are 245/40/18". I have had them on for a month and they dont seem very noisy at all. I had bridgstones on last set and on the highway they made a ringing noise on the road. (they were very bald though and lots of fun!). The Nankangs seem ok nothing special, their profile looks visually more than the bridgstones but they were 235/40/18". All in all they were the cheapest set of 245's I could find they cost $200 per tyre. I have no other info for you

I guess these come in the wheel/tyre packages from Tempe. I am happy to get the rims from Tempe but was not all that confident on their tyres. Makes me feel a little more confident in ordering one of their packages now.

I also got a packege from tempe, 18 inch rims with the 235 Nankangs!! I cant fault them they have been great so far. They are not noise at all and they seem to be wearing well! I recon these will last me at least 40000kms!

.............but by then 2 years would have passed and the new Falcon will be out and I will be 24 and insurance wont hurt as much and I will be earning a lot more mulla and most of all, the time would have come to trade the Fairmont in on something that will hopefuly have a 6.2 litre alloy V8 and 6 gears with no diff cluck!!

BTW the Nankangs are great, you cant go wrong for what you pay for them!!

There was a 3 page tread on the Australian LS1 Forum not too long ago and the boys there all had positive things to say about the Nankangs!

Nankangs are a cheap tyre, for day to day traffic they are good, if you want to get a little adventurous you might want to watch it as they dont have a very good reputation for there handling.

I only went the 235/40-18 option because it is closer to the rolling diameter of my 17" spare. Where as the factory fitted 18" have 245s fitted.
