April 4, 200323 yr #1 l need some ideas/opinions.We are considering taking advantage of the strong resale value of the XR6T at present and selling our car and getting into a GT. With the tax benefits/deductions etc taken into account this may cost us well under 10 grand to do.Its tempting; here's the pro's and cons as l see them...WHY YOU WOULDThe GT looks horn, subtle but aggressive and THAT bonnet bulgeAwesome V8, more low down (real world) performanceSmooth V8 performance and that V8 soundBetter gearboxImproved handlingGood resaleLess common on the roadWHY YOU WOULDN'TThat stupid starter buttonMore fuel usage (but I'm not paying)Cant believe you have to option Premium sound on a GTNot sure about the 18" 'split' rims but they probably look better in the fleshReduced front ground clearanceHas anyone driven a GT back to back with a Turbo? l am still waiting for CDAA's review of the GT, but will have to find a dealer with a demo soon myself. l wonder if the GT will have the same sort of driveline shunt experienced by manual XR6T owners or if Ford specify a different spec on the diff. l think the ratio is different so maybe the spec is too. So go on, give me your idea's. Would you do it?
April 4, 200323 yr #2 Mondie... give it a week or so, & you'll get a 1st hand indication!( when IT finally arrives!).... One thing to consider is putting yourself in the luxury car tax bracket!... A GT with a few "Goodies" will be 70 odd on road!... say 46...47 for the "T" ? Hmmm
April 5, 200323 yr #3 Author Cant wait to hear what you reckon Charlie being an owner of both. l wonder how much of a handling edge the GT has over the XR6T also.Seen a Blood Orange T at a dealer the other day and it looks wild, your pursuit is going to be a mean set of wheels.
April 5, 200323 yr #4 a gt, hmm the only thing I dont like about the gt is the rear wing, and the starter button, oh and the weight, oh anf the fact its only a poofteenth faster than a xr6t...
