RB74's are a great pad and are very popular in the WRX clubs because they're a good streetable pad and perform great at the track aswell. The only issue I have heard is that they wear rotors reasonably quick, but if you want perfromance then you have to expect wear.

I considered the RB74's when I put new brakes on my car but at the time they hadn't quite been released for the BA and was told I'd have to wait a few weeks. So I got the ferrodo's instead.

Yeah correct Benny with the wear, but then again I would rather have the wear and working brakes than ones I cannot rely on. When I ran out of brakes at Calder it was not a fun experience. :k24t:

Also not forgetting that this is another option for those who have had problems with their factory ford brakes since new with shudder etc. For some guys the wear would be less than the factory pads as most of them have had their brakes shimmed half a dozen times or even had to replace the discs at their own personal cost. :spoton: For me I would rather supply something that I know is going to work than keep going back to ford to constantly have them shimmed and replaced. :spoton:

Take your car back to Ford, and ask for the TSB on replacement pads for premium brakes. Ford have released a new pad to stop the brake squeal. They will only offer the replacement if you ask for it. You will get "genuine" pads for $0. Now that's a good deal.` :spoton:

Just had mine replaced on Tuesday. The old pads had 61,000km on them. :spoton:

I don't drive the car like a girl, as I only get 30 - 31,000km out of the tyres. Obviously too much time on the loud pedal and not enough time on the middle pedal. :ermm:

Yeah I know aboout the TSB. Its just if I am going to replace my brakes I would rather pay for the best available than settle for some average ones cause they're free.

Having said that I will still go get some free new pads outta the b@st@rds before I replace them, just because I can!! Haha!

Agreed. Used them on a previous car and found them to be excellent especially for the money they cost! Absolutely destroyed my rotors but chances are my driving style will see the factory rotor/pad setup of the premiums do the same thing

Like JB, rotor wear doesn't bother me if it means I can stop every time without fail and they did just that, never faded once. Only negative thing I can say about them was in the morning from a cold start they took a couple applications to work some heat into them and operate at their best.

I hate to see what you guys call my driving style I only get 15000kms out of my tyres and my car does not see burnouts either. But I spose I don't rotate my rear tyres to the front to extend life. still have originals on fronts after 28000 kms

Well the RB 74 are on and the car is VERY different in it's braking. I cannot believe how thes pads have changed the braking charachteristics of the car. Alot more brake dust, but for the money I have spent I would say I am on par with the ford premium brake guys, no exageration. Even my dealer said he was better off fitting these pads for me as he would not expect to see me again with brake problems. :Imwifhim:

Sorry JB not a chance.

Premium Brakes incorporate a larger rotor and caliper, meaning they can take more heat than your brake setup.

We will both stop on par, but I'll be able to do it over and over and over again, whilst you will be able to do it a couple of times. :P

I proved this theory with my last car (DBA 4000 rotors, Bendix Ultimate pads). 4 hard laps around wakefield killed 3 week old brake pads, boiled brake fluid and killed the master cylinder.

In this car I can do 15 laps without a single hint of fade :)
