Brake Upgrade

I need to upgrade the brakes as the ute isnt stopping as well as she use to. Before you tell me to go out buy brembos or the like I can tell you that they are out of the question as they are way above my budget. I have heard that some guys are using dba slotted brake rotors. has any1 got these

If so are they any good? A pair is valued at just over $300. If you know where I can get somethng similar for good dollars, please let me know.

Why upgrade when ford will warrant what you have till 100 000kms?

dont want the hassle of getting the brakes shimmed all the time.... just convenience more then anything else... plus Im running the edit now so just need a bit more stoppinjg power

I put dba 4000 series on the front and rear of my t with ferodo pads.

roughly it was about 150 beer tokens per disk and 120 beer tokens per set of pads.

they work really well but they do tend to sqeal a bit like my wife at very slow speed applications.

I had it done for 100 beer tokens and that included replacing the brake fluid with dot 4 fluid.

Fitted and carefully bedded in DBA slotted to front and added QFM RB74 comp pads. All up just under $400 (rotors $130 each) which has provided a consistent and significant improvement in braking performance under all conditions. They appear fade free, produce almost no dust and do not squeal or judder. Subsequently added Lucas pads to standard rear set up. Damn good bang for the buck short of shelling out $2000 for premium brake upgrade.

prices depend on who you know in the trade and where you live.

I could not find a supplier for qfm pads in w.a. so I went for the ferodo pads.

how do you go for squeal at very low speed applications.

Does anyone know where you can get the QFM RB74 comp pads from in Vic and what sort of price should we be paying - asked at a couple of places but they always seem to try and get you to go for something else or their "own" QFM formula!
