400m times mean nothing ford have deliberately geared the Typhoon so it wont out muscle the Gt`s down the strip. However the roll on 80/120kmh times in each gear don’t only say its faster then the Gt, but the fastest car ever built in Australia. That tittle I’m sure we will all agree is held buy the Gts commodore, the best ¼ mile time that a mag has ever run is a 13.36, by motor mag on a sticky air strip in pcoty back in 2002, which has never been duplicated again by them or any other mag for that mater. Here are the roll on figures for the ford Fpv Gt, Hsv Gts, and Fpv Typhoon all manuals of course.

Wheels June 2004 roll on 80/120kmh for Hsv Gts

3rd gear 4.1

4th gear 5.9

5th gear 9.1

6th gear 13.5

Wheels December 2004 roll on 80/120kmh for Fpv Gt

3rd gear 4.2

4th gear 6.0

5th gear 7.5

6th gear 11.4

Wheels December 2004 roll on 80/120kmh for Fpv F6 Typhoon

3rd gear 3.8

4th gear 4.7

5th gear 6.8

6th gear 9.6

As you can plainly see the Typhoon is in another leigh in 5th and 6th gear. Faster in every other it blows the Gts and Gt away, it will never be faster on the strip due to a taller 1st gear and shorter finale drive but on the street there will be no Australian built factory car that will even run up side it, the Typhoon will just hose them. So all you guys and girls that keep crying over the Typhoons times take a chill pill because at the end of the day ford want to sell motor cars not ¼ mile time slips.

(I LOVE FORD)!!!!

It may be the fastest but Ford are yet to meet the quality issues they still wont address. No good having a fast car that's always in the dealer getting fixed.

Have you ordered one, l am guessing you either have or will be from your handle? Good luck with it, l hope you dont need it. If it wasnt for the fact that FPV had to nobble the Typhoon to avoid cannibalising the GT they would have created an awesome car.

I`m talking about the cars speed who cares about little probs my uncles 03 M3 needed a new gearbox at 6700km, the Typhoon is the fastest australian car ever built and that is now fact. There will always be problems with cars as long as thay keep bulding them its just the way it is, Expensive Daewoo replaced almost 20% of all gen3s sold between the years 99 and 01 now that's a problem

Little problems maybe, but large consistant problems are what ford are famous for!

Might be alright if they could fix them the first time too, maybe :spit:

You might be right, but ford just don't seem to give a :kissmy: when you are obviously not happy when you have to get something done again ,because they haven't fixed it right in the first place!

They replace a drive belt on my ute, and say it is not a warranty issue, gimme $150, and then had my own mechanic find the idler bearing fcuked and that has caused your belt to thrash out!

I went back today and said politly, "Your iccompetant technicians failed to find that the idler bearing is worn , and caused my belt to wear faster than usual"

OH no that's just how they are he said

They said they wouldn't refund my money but would change the bearing under warranty if that what I want!

Now why would they change the bearing under warranty, if that is just the way they are, and wasn't the cause of the unordinarily fcuked belt?

But they could not give sh*t that I was obviously pissed off!

And the brakes need machining again!

So I asked him what happens when the car is out of warranty and I have to pay for the brakes to be machined every 15000kms?

Oh well he says, maybe they will have fixed it by then he says!

:w00t2: ford I say!

I'd say you've got a F&%ed dealer, as I had the same problem with the belt wearing and squeaking, leaving belt dust over everyting under the idler gear but my dealer replaced the idler gear and belt under warranty no questions asked.
