Enjoy the mad house...

As for your auto and the reverse issue. I have a auto and I can say I have seen this issue. Although I cant say that I punch the go pedal when putting it into reverse. Can I suggest a quick trip down to your local friendly dealer for a quick checkup and see how you go.

Re other issues.... Hmmm... Big question that. Have a look around the forum and see what you can find. I guess the main niggling issues are brake sudder (better is later models) and tail shaft clunk (but as you have a auto the later is less of an issue).... Some people have had issues, some have not. For me, I have had my car for 18 months and traveled 60,000km including 20,000km of towing and no major issues... Still the best car I have ever owned....

When I had my auto freshened up, the guy said oh well we were there we drilled out something (can't remember what) he said that is to stop the thing jumping into reverse so hard, and that all Fords have that same trait.

Well another problem I had with my auto was every now and again I'd chuck it into reverse, and the gear would not engage.

I've left my car on a flat bit of ground once in reverse for 10 mins, and it didn't engage.

Prolly the main reason I got the tranny replaced, but I did have your issue as well.

It's not within spec, my dealer said it was a problem that would be fixed.

Yep - chaulk one of these up for me. That and it jumps and slips in first on take off if I'm in sports mode. My dealer can't fault it. Ho hum. Oh well... I'm reckoning it'll go the way that Cro's went and I'll end up with a new box sooner or later.
