Spark Plug Replacement

Featured Replies

#1

Hi Guys

I need some advise.

I replaced my spark plugs with Splitfire Platinums and the car was surging when cruising with a slight missfire. I had gapped the plugs to 0.8mm then tryed 0.88mm and it still had the same problem. I ended up taking the Splitefire plugs back so they can be checked / replaced. With my old stock plugs the car is fine.

Does the car have to be Dynoed if the Plugs are replaced. My car has the APS Phase II kit fitted also.

Cheers

Why would you change the plugs if they are fine? Get a refund & go about your business. The stocko's can make huge power.

Hi ktford

I found with the Splitfires the car runs smoother/ less hunting on idle. I think they are a all round better plug.

Not a valve spring problem is it?

The hunting is usually caused by too wide a plug gap or dirty throttle body.
