Ford Stands High

I got my info from waaaaaaayyyyyyy back when they were just releasing the car, something to do with having an alloy stem.

Well well, looks like that went out the window at the speed of light now doesnt it.

And yes, it SHOULD BE if it isn't. Its a gear level, you would assume it was wouldnt you.

Well maybe you assume too much - and maybe before you start making such assumptions which lead you to attacking other people's posts you should just take the time to check out some facts. Plonky was statings facts. You might like to read some of his posts throughout the many threads on this forum and you may learn something ... then come back yourself with some worthwhile input.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

 :kissmy:

but its true !!!

vik

I'll third that - Plonky chucks in some b!oody good posts and a forum newcomer attacks him with info that is over 2 years old?! That is if it was even valid at all!!!

Also, while we're on the topic of people making bizarre posts, rednut99: dude, have a read of your post before you hit the ol' "Add Reply" button. Check this out:

1/ "It was as good as the BA but it lost the comparison simply because despite all the major changes and improvements it was miles better than the BA." - um, if it was as good as the BA, then sure, it could still lose the comparison. Oh wait, now you're telling us that it was "miles better"than the BA but STILL lost the comparo?! Perhaps you were saying the BA was miles better than the VZ? Or the VZ was miles behind the BA? Or what are you trying to say?

2/ "the PADDLES where gimmicky and could only be used if activated by pressing a button on the dash" - as other people have pointed out, they are buttons, not paddles (Aside: From what I've driven in the VX and VY series the steering wheel audio controls are VERY ordinary - don't think I'd like that sort of quality button for shifting - I'd hope they were better!) Also, the button to engage the steering wheel mounted gear change buttons is on the centre console, next to the gear lever, not on the dash.

Are you sure you read the article??! Did you even look at the pictures?

3/ "The BA simply was unchanged" :ermm: Really?! No WAY! You mean it's still the same car that was released in 2002? (der) This wasn't a comparo between two new models, it was a comparo between what Expensive Daewoo have just pushed onto the market (obviously to compete with the Falcon) and what Ford have been flogging for 2+ years now.

4/ "If there wasn't a Turbo BA I would be buying an XR6, I would be putting my money on a 190kw 6speed VZ with ESP!" - so does this mean you'd be buying an XR6 and placing a bet on a VZ?

Sorry to have such a bash at your post, rednut99 but if you're going to pick on someone else's post, it's nice if your own makes sense!

While this might be slightly off-topic, when the hell are Expensive Daewoo going to spend some more money on the interior of the Commodore? I can't say I'd be too impressed every time I opened the door of my 2004/5 model VZ and it felt like I was opening the door of a 1997 VT (since they are still using the same mould!).

From what I have read I am yet to see one. Not to mention his post was "I heard" not "I know".

I'm not saying he doesn't contribute, but from the few posts I read they seemed to display a pattern of miss information and bad assumptions (much like I assumed the shifter was alloy, though, initial planning was to have it as alloy, but this was changed at the last minute according to ford. My assumption was based on a fact that was changed, so you can't really blame me :P).

My appologies if he was simply having 'an off week'.

And the plastic used for the shifter could still hold your weight according to ford, so it must have been a defective part, not a week link.

Cheers.
