Hey guys, sorry its taken me a while gettin back to you. Not been around the puter all that much.

You know, we could all sprout on about how good a second dump pipe for the wastegate would be and so it goes, however until someone actually fabricates a twin pipe dump that actually works better than the factory item in "back to back testing", well, then there is no proof.

Genius aren't I! Fact is, until this happens I am absolutely sticking to my story. If on the other hand it can be proven, then great, that's awesome.

Only problem I see is that showing a before and after dyno sheet without actually witnessing the runs yourself, makes it quite difficult. You know why of course. Because whos to say that between the first and second run, boost is wound right up and other mods are undertaken.

It would be great if someone looking to do a twin dump pipe contatcs a magazine and they do a story on it. That way we would see if it was for real.

Geting back to my first post, the only time I believe a twin jobbie would be used is once you upgrade to a much bigger turbo and extractors.

I will post some dyno results of when I get mine done, I will have it dynod again shortly because I have had a few mods since the last time it was on the rollers and it will be dynod again after the dump pipe goes on (wont be for about 3-4 weeks).

It will be done on the same dyno in the same mode and the boost cant be wound up as I dont have a chip as yet, xlr8ed and JPM86 can confirm this.

Guys, I have a mate that owns an exhaust shop and we did some research into exhausts for the T. Here are my results:

I dyn'o'd the car;

Standard - 202.5 rwKw

Cat back dual 2.5" system - 201.3 rwKw

3" single cat back system - 203.7 rwKw

3" single cat back with no centre muffler - 205.3 rwKw

3" single from dump pipe back including hi flow 3" cat - 213.6 rwKw.

Further information - the car was dynod on saturdays at approx 1pm by the same dyno operator on the same dyno (note I did this to keep in consistant). Also note that the car was running optimax.

As far as the dump pipe is concerned I am about to start work on the dump pipe and run the car through another dyno run. When I get it done, ill let you guys know.

Dean

OK so you don't get on the 'puter much, but when you did there were at least two direct questions put to you that you have chosen not to answer.

Next time on could you please address these as there are many people here interested in what you have to say if you can back it up?

Dean since you know your way around an xr6t exhaust, can you tell me if the stock exhaust is dual 2" or 2.25" I have never known this and it sh*ts me.

Dazza.

Dazza,

The standard exhaust on the T is comprised of a 3" dump pipe to the cat, followed by a 2.25" twin exit from the back of the cat to the end of the system.

PS Dazza, if you want pics or anything let me know, ive got the std system sitting on my garage floor :)

Difilippo has a 3" dump pipe with seperate 1 3/4" wastegate pipe, which can be bought seperately. They also have a Hi-flow cat, join this up to the standard system with the centre muffler removed and I think you'd be on a winner...

Here's the webpage if anyone wants a look...
