Nice effort Dr Z.

I think the bottom line is that all countries do whatever is in their interests.

I do not believe for one moment that any country went into Iraq because Saddam was a bad chappie.

I guess the Free Trade Agreement with the US was Australia's reward for joining the Coalition of The Willing.

Hmmm.

Right vs wrong ?. Who is right ?....those who are only concerned about themselves and what is best for them at the current time. Dr Z forgot to mention that the US were big supporters for Sadam Hussein during the Irag / Iran war, and all of a sudden he is now a tryant, because it is no longer in their interest.

If the US weren't such arrogant B*stards and stopped interfering with global politics, especially in the middle east, then perhaps everyone would love the US and 9/11 may never have happened. Ok, I appreciate the need to help other countries in times of need, but offer help and provide help if asked, rather than enforcing change.

Personally I thought Bush had declared the war in Iraq over....so why are we reading in the news about constant battles against Najaf by US forces ?

It is things like this that only increase one's hatred of the US and all they stand for. They cannot see outside their own borders.

On numerous occasions during trips to the US, I have been asked what I have thought about the war on terror. When I mention that Australia is actively involved, I find the Americans get confused, as they believe only they and the UK are the only one's fighting.

Open your eyes Americans. There is life outside your country, and remember whilst your believe you rule the world, you DON'T. Several billion people share it with you.

[As for my car, it is not because of want, it is because of NEED. I have it as it's all I can afford. If you know of some magical way I can conjure up an australian built car, for less than $2000 that I can get good fuel economy in, please tell me.

Is that a cop out? Sure sounds like one to me.

At the risk of upsetting some people on here if it was not for the usa there would have been september 11's than there has been all they are doing is frighting for the freedom of iraq's people to have a say in there lives.

As for prisoners of war do not complain about the way they are treated when you see innocent people kidnap and beheaded by these low life scum.

We are the lucky ones who live in a free country so why can't we help other people have the same.

Gw bush has only taken a stand against these low life scum to make this happen.

Just take note at the olympic's what countries where gretted the loudest to see what that part of the world thinks and than think about what you are saying.

The usa, great brittan and australia along with the small iraqie term where gretted the loudest by far if this is worng for us than shot me now as I do not want to live like some countries in the middle east and arfica have to now.

Ian

PS we should hang saddam and hicks and there mates with out trail as this what they did on semptember 11.

You make me proud Goldie biggest problem with this country and the U.S is everybody wants to do things the humanitarian way. If the Us were fighting soldiers instead of terrorist it would be a different story. These dictatorships need to be destroyed, everybody should be able to experience freedom. I am proud to be an aussie and as far as treating terrorist humanely if they dont live by the rules why should the U.S. The terrorist who kills someone in cold blood wont be punnished why should the U.S. But the humanitarians want you to capture prisoners lock them in a cell for 6 months then let them go, so they can go kill again. They should execute every terrorist they catch and let them see how they like it. As for interogations if it save lives cut there bloody hands off see if I care.

This is where you are wrong, america does rule the world and that is the reason so many countries hate americans.Just like in history whether it was the greeks, romans, british etc there will always be activist who beleive that they should be at the top (the fall of the roman empire was a perfect example).

Yes America does rule the world because there is no one left to challenge them, but rather than invade and plunder they control it via the share market and global economy.
