I am sure that if I spent $220k on a masarati they would blow me if I asked. Horses for courses. I guess the minimum we expect is to be treated like a human and not a problem and also have a car that is acceptable quality

Face value has some credit but dont rely on it, A thing I learnt in my profession as well.

I believe it's harder to tell these days, most of the guys I know with plenty of $$ you would not pick a mile away.

Which brings me to a funny situation at the old Hamilton's Porsche days in Melb. A mate new the sales manager there and let's say was a regular customer in purchasing vehicles. Another thing he was renowned for was paying in Cash, so when it was time to purchase a new Porsche for himself he turned up in his usual attire, Shorts, T shirt and thongs, classy!!

He stood in the dealership for 20 minutes and no one gave him the time of day, he subsequently walked accross the road to Dutton's where he was immediately served and paid cash for a Ferrari! The following day he then called the sales manager of Hamilton's to tell him about his new car, in which the sales manager replied 'why did'nt you come see us'? when the story was told of the service received, the whole sales team working that day were subseqently sacked!

I reckon if you could make a fortune being a decent car sales person, good service, follow up and honesty would go a long way.

Hey Zap, apparently these days you get a complimentary Blonde in the front seat when purcahsing a Porsche or Ferrari. Used to be they were an optional extra!

JB,

I was at the dealers yesterday and they were loading all the WW XR8's onto a truck. later I saw the truck drive past with 6 WW XR8's onboard. Dunno where they were going, but I think they were the ones in the pic you have about domination of the winter white..... I should have plastered across the pic "COPYRIGHT 2004 ZAPXR6T"

it'd probably help if I sell my car first, so I know exactly when I can buy. I just don't fancy the idea of not having a car for a few months

Still demand a test drive. :spoton:

I agree with Glenn, you MUST test drive one. I was fortunate enough to waltz into my local dealer in Gosford, NSW, dressed in trackys, T shirt and steelcaps, and took a used T for a spin up to the old Pacific Hwy. The sales team there at Grawill Ford get the big thumbs up from me. I too dream of the day when I'm in a position of owning one myself....... Punch, tell them you have huge equity on a house and you are keen to test one first to compare to the VY SS.
