I didnt think that it was against the law to drive with the t"s 'driving lights on' at nite till a cop pullled me over and informed me otherwise...

Must admitt thou, the T driving lights are no way near as bad as those blindingly bright blue neon :msm: BMW standard lights are. Get those :msm: on the wrong angle from behind or oncoming and you cant see :msm: . I just wanna buy a crap c'dore so I can ram every :spoton: BMW I can find.

FOGLIGHTS are for FOG. :msm:

we didnt spend over $130,000 on our cars for someone to tell us what to do with our lights. we drive them with foglights on at all times. and guess what your free to do what ever you want too when you drive your car. you wont worry me passing by.

I hear the series 2 comes out with a 30cm roo spottie in the middle of the roof with the control arm coming down into the cabin so you can twist it into the eyes of any vehicle you want.

can it be mounted to the bonnet? I might add one to ross's and aim it at the windscreen! LOL

(j/k... what vik! I'm joking! )

If you spent $130,000 to drive with foglights in the daylight...

well...what can I say? Hope you saved some for the fines

Isn't it funny what we end up having huge talks about on here.

A question. When you drive and someone comes the other way with the high beams un dipped what do you do.

1. Glare at the lights so your eyes get all f&*ked up. :glad:

2. Glare at the lights and pop your big 1000W spotties on so they get blinded as well and you have a head-on. At the same time blinding the person in front of you going the same way, as well as the person sitting behind them on the other side of the road. :spoton:

3. avoid looking at them by looking at the white line on the side of the road or some other place so you can safely continue driving, as well as keeping your cool and arriving nice and relaxed. THen wait for the cops to do there job. :glad:

I do the last one and try not to get to worked up about something so small in my life. I don't think it is worth the stress. :spoton:

Sometimes people forget to dip, I am guilty, but usually a quick flick of the high beams gets the other person to dip quickly, if they dont, I slow down a tad and keep well left.

Lets get things exactly right.

They are NOT driving lights. They are FOG lights. They are designed (Well I might add) to throw a heavily refracted light, low and wide, to reduce glare and thereby reduce refection, in fog.

By no small coincidence, as a result of the design parameters, in daylight and nightdark, to oncoming traffic, (ME) they produce less glare than the normal BA low beam.

Of course, you will say this is my opinion only and you will be correct. However. To reinforce my opinion, I will state that I'm quite prone to glare and very consious of it. A result of my age and consistant use of good quality sunglasses from an early age. (No, smarties have no effect)

The FOG lights on BA fords and some others do not bother me.

The FOG? lights on some others do bother me.

The REAR FOG lights on all cars bother me. Why is this so you ask?....Because the design parameters for a REAR FOG light call for it to be of high intensity so that in a heavy fog, you don't run up its arze.......!!

Yes....yes I concede that in many states it contravenes the law to have them in use in un-foggy conditions.

However, as I also believe that being conspicuous assists in being less accident prone, I reckon I'll continue to run them (Daylight hours) when on long interstate or potentially dangerous highways.

To partly quote the Plonkster, " This is my opinion only"
