Do a search for a thread by me called "Sat Nav Self Install". There is a fairly detailed tute in there. It is definately possible to have sat nav for under $1500. Food for thought.DAMN YOU! Why would you dangle that carrot in front of me when you know (full well) that I'm an absolute mechanical nit-wit! Mate check out the tute. If that still seems too hard then you could still find a second hand one on eBay and pay some dude $400 odd bucks to install it for you. Keep in mind though, if you get it off eBay it will likely be the DX-N (predecessor to the DX-V) and you still have to buy the software and BA interface. Yes. It depends how you wire it. You can either:a) run a seperate speaker for the Blau unit so you can hear b**ching betty over the radio or,b) run it into the Ford hands free car kit wiring. This method mutes the music whenever she has something to say.Chris

I think Blau would have said that because they recommend running the seperate speaker. I'm not too sure what would happen if you tried to run handsfree and sat nav at the same time. I assume I wouldn't work, I'm sure one of the other members will be able to help you with that one.

I've been looked and you can get a complete system for a bit under $2000, and it has the added advantage of being able to put it in any car you happen to be driving.

Nice little unit. Pretty messy to setup on the dash in the holder with the power cable though.The dedicated SatNav units have the added trip program ability with turn by turn directions etc. In the USA my Magellan has software availabe to do this, but not here in OZ yet. IMO the screen is a bit small to show all that info. Actually I have the US CD here as I brought the unit in from there.Personally - I like the idea of the mapping detail come up on the ICC.Cheers,Michael...
