But like a 160ke ED with 3.45 LSD and auto could match a 182kw XR I thought as I pulled up next to Scotty. I was thinking, its either a Turbo with more than stock power or he's having a wank.I thought I had him 80kmh but alas I was mistaken, for you see, in the blink of an eye I was 10m behind... I then started saving for an XR6 Turbo and here I am waiting for it... Its your choice man, if you reckon it would look good with one or without one do it hey. I reckon the spoilers look really good, but the ones without spoilers can only pull it off in certain colours like black, silver, white etc. that will look very sleek without one. My advice is, de badge if your gonna do it btw- nice scotty!I reckon the same about the chrome thing, it'd look crap (imo) on brighter coloured cars, but silver, black, white, phantom etc would pull them off, not so much the brighter colours. I'd even hesitate on lightning strike. But, I had some reservations about HgAg beeing a bit cold and steely and I reckon a bit of extra chrome is an improvement. It's just my opinion, but it's my car, so I guess I can do it if I choose to. If someone else doesn't like it, that's OK - Try imagining a world where everyone liked the same things - no thanks! Issues? - don't think I've got any of them, but I could be wrong.Max, the Fairmont chrome strip is about $90.00, which is more than enough for a bit of chromed plastic. Readily available from the dealers. Here's a photo of two lovely butts, in HgAg with a bit of chrome embellishment and LS without. Hope it helps you decide. Guest Modi Guests Posted 25/05/04 09:16 AM Share Posted 25/05/04 09:16 AM The only way I'd go without the rear spoiler is if the car was well lowered, 18 inch rims and all badges removed. Maybe extra low at the rear to get rid of the raked look. slapnut Member 216 Member For: 21y 1m 25d Location: Siddie Posted 25/05/04 11:43 AM Share Posted 25/05/04 11:43 AM Well here goes....I love the chrome I don't know why, but maybe it's because I was around in the 70's and I spent far too much cash chrome plating everything that could be removed from the engine bay of my 1967 HR sedan.BTW - the HR ran a blue 202 - Garrett TO4 - single SU -water injection and a HD trimatic and hi-stall and 3.55LSD banjo diff. - (make that many banjo diffs) and custom 14"Neale wheels.Love the chrome Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10940-xr6t-no-spoiler-sacrelige/page/3/#findComment-126655 Share on other sites
