April 12, 200422 yr #11 Author Geea, what sort of state was your transmission in when you sent it in for the rebuild? I have a feeling that mine may be a little far down the 'rooted' path for salvage..
April 12, 200422 yr #12 Geea, what sort of state was your transmission in when you sent it in for the rebuild? I have a feeling that mine may be a little far down the 'rooted' path for salvage.. It was 1 week old, Ford had just replaced the one I killed. If you give them a ring I'm sure they will tell you what options are available. I think I also read somewhere that XRDreaming was having his auto rebuilt by APS in Melb when he gets his phase III fitted as he has almost killed his. Maybe give Dean a PM and see what he is actually doing. It could be an idea to give Peter (APS) a ring and see what he says.Geea.

April 13, 200422 yr #16 So you hadnt modified your car at that stage ?? The valve body in all early "T's" is faulty. Even though my car has the chip my service department told me that because it was an acknowledged fault that they would replace the valve body due to the car slipping on the 2-3 change. My car was slipping a bit before my chip, though I never showed them the car then. The valve body was replaced in January I think and this made the problem a lot better. There was still a bit of slipping though, I have been told (independantly) this was because the clutches would have been damaged by the previous slipping. I had my car booked in to go to the Ford test track to test out the slipping (had to use the test track as it only happened at 130kmph). The weekend before it was due to go to the test track the transmission started a horrible noise, like something was catching inside the box. Both JB and BLOWN BA heard this and might be able to explain it better. I took the car to the service department on the Monday and after the service manager had a look and had the BTR engineer have a look they organised a new transmission which was installed tuesday. I picked the car up with new transmission Tuesday afternoon. I was very happy about that.Geea.
April 13, 200422 yr #17 Author Mine is making the horrible whining noise, and is slipping anywhere between 500-1500rpm between gear changes, and also in a steady state cruise, which I would assume means the clutches are definitely rooted.

If you have an early build turbo, not sure how early mine is Feb 2003, tell Ford the auto is their fault because of the faulty valve body. They are aware that these are faulty and are replacing them when needed. This will cause further problems when the clutches pack in because of too much slipping. before I got mine swapped over but after the valve body replacement it was getting pretty bad after a few hard launches. It would take 2-3 seconds to change from 2nd-3rd while bouncing off the limiter.Geea.
April 13, 200422 yr #19 Geea Did you have a prob with it hitting the rev limiter when kicking down to first?Tony
