  1. Pulled the intake tube off the turbo on my Fg today (2000km on the clock) and there was cleanish engine oil in it. There was enough that to wipe it with your finger was like wiping a dipstick. The oil was coming straight out of the turbine. Is it normal for oil to go through like this and if so how much is too much
  2. Just got a brand new FG Turbo and if the vehicle breaks traction it results in severe multiple banging coming from the rear axle like it has severe axle hop and cant get power down. Its really bad and sounds like the ar&e end of the car is going to come out. Is this normal it sounds shocking. Happens with or without traction control.
  3. I had previously bought 2 new cars from Ford dealers and had nothing but heartache from any dealer I took it to it seemed they are packed with idiots or its a pre-requisite to gain employment in their service dept although I'm sure there are good ones. I just bought my 3rd new car an FG turbo sedan and after picking it up after its pre-delivery check I noted on the way home that the tyres felt underinflated (yep they were 26lbs)had it a week now and driven it heaps so thought better check under the bonnet. Well the useless F#$Kwits struck again this time I noticed that there was an oily substance on the radiator support panel and the paint under it was lifted and shrivelled. Yep the service dept had spilled some sort of corosive (im guessing brake fluid) on the support panel and it has lifted the paint down to bare metal and now its going to rust. Whyy are these people so useless how hard can it be are they all drug F%@ked idiots or what I am at a loss 3 cars 3 bad experiences. How have the rest of you faired with dealers
  4. The standard thermostat in the FG turbo has a 54mm flange a total height of 39mm and a flange to base height of 22mm, it is a 91C/195F temperature For those wishing alternatives just to make it easier I have Dayco part numbers that can be cross referenced for other temperature configurations. Std DT14B (91C/195F) step 1 DT14G (89C/192F) Step 2 DT14A (82C/180F) Step 3 DT14E (77C/170F) Step 4 DT14C (71C/160F) All these thermostats are identical except for temp ratings. These are listings and I take no responsibility for any consequences of running anything other than std equipment and you should consult a professional prior to fitment. Just for an idea of differences, the temp guage on the FG ran just nudging half way on the std thermostat and I went for the coldest one (71C) and it now runs just a hair over one quarter on the guage. A run out west today had it returning almost 1km/100L better than the last trip (same route) but will need to repeat the run a couple of times may be just coincidence. Only had the car 1 week and done 1500km already hope the novelty wears off before the car wears out.
  5. I pick mine up Mon 10th Jan and if it doesnt do 12.5L/100km at least then I wont be that impressed because my modified 5.6 T3 engined ute gave me that consistantly and they both go around the same as far as the bumometer. Looking forward to it though it will be nice to get back into a sedan now that I have grandkids to cart around.
