  1. I know. Because the dealer say they can't find an issue they won't cover it under warranty. Just parts for a recondition look to be around $1,500.
  2. The thought had come to me too but the current car would be traded and I doubt the dealer would be up for it. Made harder when they drive the car and swear they can't feel any problem with the gearbox. Isn't it always the way if your car has an issue and you try and show the mechanic and they can't find a thing wrong. Helps in this case when you know what the gearbox should feel like.
  3. I currently drive a manual FG MkII Turbo which has a nice sweet shifting gearbox but given it has covered 135,000km I'm looking to get a lower milage FG-X. Recently drove a very clean looking FG-X turbo at a used car dealer and found the car great in all ways except that the gearbox had a bit of a crunch going from 2nd to 3rd suggesting weak syncros and it was a bit baulky going into 1st at a standstill. Have other owners experienced this with their cars and it it something that can be repaired? Any ideas as to how much it is to get a TR-6060 gearbox reconditioned? Steve
  4. Took it into the place usually serviced and they diagnosed the Master Cylinder failing but ok to drive up to Port Stephen's over Christmas and they would replace early in new year. Got up here and the master cylinder has almost totally failed and won't be able to get back to Sydney without it being replaced. Problem is nobody is open up here, they are all on holiday too.
  5. Thanks for all the replies definitely helped track down the issue. Because there were no system warnings showing it meant that there was nothing wrong with the system itself so had to be something to do with sensors being activated. Brake fine but turns out the clutch pedal not coming out far enough to activate the sensor there. By pulling the pedal out further the cruise activates. Likely the car needs a new master cylinder.
  6. Thanks for the reply, do have a tow pack. Gave the wiring a good jiggle and tried to follow it as far as I could but hasn't done anything so far. If there is an earth somewhere it could be related to the last service as they replaced the drivers side power window drive mechanism so it maybe that the problem is there, I don't think the cruise control has worked since the last service in early November.
  7. Disconnected and reconnected the battery and the screen came back up again with no problems at all, just like turning a PC off and on.
  8. Recently the cruise control on my FG XR6T has decided to stop working. The system turns on using the main paddle but when pressing the set speed button it doesn't do anything. Has anyone else had this problem and what was needed to fix it? As an aside the car has so far run an almost trouble free 120,000 kms so far and has been simply brilliant to drive.
  9. Today the screen in my Falcon stuck on the reversing camera view when I shifted back out of reverse, although the actual camera disengaged. The result is the normal screen which controls the radio, phone etc is no longer accessible and the screen itself is permanently on even when the keys are removed. Has anyone else suffered this type of problem with the central interior screen? What was the solution? It may well be a sensor that has failed in the gear linkage? I should add my car is a manual and has done around 120,000 trouble free kilometers.
